Are The Major Article Directories Dying A Slow Death?

It used to be sage advice to tell people to submit their articles to major article directories but things have changed, big-time. For starters, article directories like Ezinearticles are sometimes quite picky about their content approval process and you can waste a lot of time trying to get an article approved. EZA's approval process is slow for non-paying members, but who in their right mind would pay to submit 1 article to one site just to get it approved faster?

Also, when it comes to getting backlinks from your articles submitted to "EZA" you're only getting backlinks from one IP address so after a while the backlinks obtained from your published articles are becoming less and less effective. "EZA" also seems to have different policies for different level members when it comes to adding hyperlinks in your resource boxes, which is unfair because it causes a lot of grief for my students who are just starting out with using their service.

WordPress made a huge difference in the world of article marketing. It became the default content management and publishing platform for new sites. That is when syndicating articles became much easier. Many new ways began to surface to syndicate articles. Once you have your user account with WordPress you can publish articles. Not only your articles. You can now accept free articles and publish them at your site when you choose to use them.

In order for you to have free articles to receive, someone has to be writing them and sending them out. That is when special services like My Article Network come to the forefront. This gives you the freedom to syndicate your articles and some of them let you put your affiliate links in the articles. What makes this especially good for you is that you can write excellent articles and make money whenever someone reads them and buys a product from your affiliate link you have embedded within the article.

With "EZA" and many other article directories you cannot put your affiliate link in the article but more importantly, services like "EZA" don't do much for you in the way of syndication of your articles. Since these major article directories have been around so long and their content approval procedures are so strict, they do really well in the search engines with the process of ranking your articles well. Nonetheless, these same major article directories seem to be dying a slow death because they do not offer much value relative to syndicating articles. As a consequence they' are becoming less of a trusted and valuable tool to use.

With article syndication you have the option of getting backlinks from hundreds, maybe even thousands of sites and IP addresses, not just from one site. Article syndication services like isnare are somewhat ineffective too, since all they do is post duplicate content to a whole bunch of places. When you post duplicate content to a lot of places at once, many of those links are discredited and worthless. Since there's so much of this duplicate content getting propagated only a few of these content pieces will get indexed, and only a small minority of the links will be applied towards your sites.

A marketer who needs traffic needs excellent backlinks. To get them you need many good quality sites linking back to your site. There are link-building services like Linkvana which are able to give you tons of very good backlinks. The great part is that long articles are not needed and it does not take a long time to wait for the article to be approved. The way I see it, the situation here is changing significantly. I think it won't be too long before the major directories have to either change with the situation or expect to be less important.

Many think that article writing is an easy job, and they pay as if this were so. Writers that have any talent at all have usually had a good amount of schooling under their belt. It seems that many times the writers today have become expendable because of the freelance market. Cheap article writers have become the norm.

You do not have to be educated in the art of writing to be a freelance article writer anymore. As long as you can put a sentence together that makes sense, and you have decent punctuation, you are a writer. You can work writing articles for websites and e-zines. The pay is not great, but then you did not pay to be educated in that specific occupation anyways.

If you are a well educated writer, this gig might not be for you. The pay is lousy, and the work is often time consuming and hurried. Everything needs to be done right away, which leaves little time for in-depth research or to get too creative. You must have quality content, and make sure that the keywords are used enough within the article.

This is a highly underpaid occupation in the Internet world. There are so many people vying for the same jobs, and many of those trying for the jobs are from under developed countries where a few bucks goes a long way. This is not the case for those writers that live in industrialized nations where the economy is high.

As long as writers continue to accept the low pay for their hard work, this will be the norm for the future, and it has already started to affect some of the freelance article writers for magazines. They find a cheaper way to get the articles that they need, they will move from a writing staff to outsourcing.

The cheap article writers make a living by quickly pushing out articles. The quality is not closely monitored. In the world outside of the Internet a writer can make good money either as a staff writer or a freelance writer. Will this continue or will the trend of the cheap article writer catch on in the real world as well?

If one is a good writer and can deliver quality content then they should be paid for what those skills are worth. That is the problem though, quality is not as strictly adhered to anymore as long as the content is readable and makes a fair amount of sense, and the key words are in there, then that is acceptable.

People should be paid according to skill set, talent, education, as well as other aspects according to their specific occupation. Good writers should be paid for good writing. Educated writers should be paid for their education. The scary thing for writers is how fast that the freelance writer is invading other writing markets. The low pay is something that many are looking at while quality is expected; it is not strictly monitored especially in the website writing market.
