Attitude to Make Money: Is Your Glass Half-Full?

By Ken Bradshaw

Every year, millions of people around the world jump on the Internet bandwagon to seek their fortune in cyberspace. Unfortunately, only a handful of them have the right attitude to learn how to make money online, and they are the ones who succeed. Their success is rooted in their attitude: they look at life as a glass half-full instead of half-empty and regard their Internet business the same way. That's the right attitude to learn how to make money online

Having the right attitude to learn how to make money online simply means that you are optimistic instead of pessimistic. You should believe that obstacles are something you can tackle (glass half-full) and not insurmountable challenges that make you retreat (glass half-empty). It is this kind of positive attitude that makes online success attainable.

There's a perfect historical example that illustrates this point. Thomas Alva Edison is renowned for inventing the light bulb and illuminating the world. However, Edison himself admitted that he made thousands and thousands of mistakes before he discovered a light bulb that could work. Faced with so many failures, how could Edison keep on going? "Well, after I had found thousands of ways NOT to make a light bulb," Edison said, "I was sure it would only be a matter of time before I found the way that worked." And he was right. By seeing the glass as half-full instead of half-empty, Edison became successful. Online entrepreneurs should have that attitude to learn how to make money online

There are three key reasons why optimism or seeing the glass as half-full is the right attitude to learn how to make money online.

Worrying too much can weigh heavily on an online entrepreneur. Not only does it attract misfortune, it also affects our health. That's why optimistic people seldom worry. Sure, they are concerned that their products or services may not be good enough or their Internet marketing is insufficient or that their limited knowledge of the Internet will prevent them from succeeding online. There's so much to worry about. But they choose to focus on what they can do today instead of worrying about something that they can't do anything about. Optimistic people know that they will survive all challenges because they always have. That's the right attitude to learn how to make money online.

To succeed at doing business on the Internet, a budding online entrepreneur must learn the ropes of the business quickly and thoroughly. He must learn about getting clients, selling his products and services, writing a blog, article or press release and a myriad other things. He's like a child again, learning to survive in a new (virtual) world. This process is easier to undertake if you have the right attitude to learn how to make money online - an attitude of optimism. It's optimism that gives you the confidence and determination to successfully overcome the hurdles of your new world. To illustrate, let's cite the example of two newly-divorced women. The pessimistic one tells herself, "Oh no, my life is over." The optimistic one tells herself, "Oh yes, my life has just begun." Obviously, the optimistic woman has a far better chance of flourishing in her new world. It's exactly the same when you do business on the Internet.

Sometimes, what you need to learn to succeed on the Internet can be very technical and very difficult. It can be so difficult that you hardly know where to begin. Under these circumstances, optimism is absolutely the best attitude to learn how to make money online. Without optimism, a person can easily give up and accept his limitations. However, with optimism, even the seemingly impossible can be attained.

The great power of optimism is that it makes anything seem possible. It can make even the most formidable limitations disappear into thin air. Is there any better attitude to learn how to make money online than that? Think of cyclist Lance Armstrong and how he overcame testicular cancer, then went on to win the grueling Tour de France six straight times. Or think of Roger Crawford, who was born with one leg and two arms, but conquered his limitations to become a tennis professional in Australia. The bottom line is that, with the right attitude to learn how to make money online, anything is possible. With optimism, anything can be achieved.
